Some of the news that have accompanied Prompsit from its creation have been collected in press releases. In chronological order, we would like to highlight the following:

  • Prompsit business plan awarded the IMPIVA/CEEI prize for the most innovative project in the competition for New Business Ideas of the Fundación Universidad Empresa (Fundeun) (read the news at Las Provincias, La Verdad, Camernova, Fundeun).
  • The Generalitat de Catalunya grants Prompsit and Taller Digital two projects for the creation of two open-source machine translators: Occitan–Catalan and Occitan–Spanish (read the news at Taller Digital, Universitat d’Alacant).
  • The Institute of Applied Linguistics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in collaboration with ABC ENCIKLOPEDIOJ SL, the Catalan Association of Esperanto and Prompsit, develop an machine translator for Catalan–Esperanto and Spanish–Esperanto. In the future, it was expected to incorporate English (read the news at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Esperanto.es [1] [2]).
  • Prompsit develops, along with the Universitat d’Alacant, the first automatic translator from Spanish to Basque (read the news at Barrapunto, Sustatu).
  • The Apertium project is the only Spanish project that participates in the Google Summer of Code 2009, by initiative of the Universitat d’Alacant and Prompsit (read the news at

  • A new translator for Apertium is released: the pair Welsh–English (read the news at The Guardian, University of Glamorgan).
  • Universitat d’Alacant and Prompsit begin to develop a machine translator between Spanish and Spanish Sign Language (read the news at Universitat d’Alacant).
