New format filter for LaTeX in Apertium

It pleases us announce the recent addition of a new filter of format for Apertium. We have been expecting during long this news: from now on we will be able to translate files LaTeX with Apertium!

This new feature has been funded by Vicerectorat de Tecnologies de la Informació i de les Comunicacions from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and Servei de Promoció del Valencià from the Universitat d'Alacant (UA). By contributing this new format filter to Apertium, both UPV and UA are covering a big need of their own university communities and will be able to provide quicker and better linguistic support for them. And, at the same time, they are extending this opportunity to the whole scientific and educational world community, the most intensive users of LaTeX to create teaching material, scientific papers, presentations, posters, etc. For Apertium, it is another important step to ease the creation of multilingual content independently of the text format in which they've been written.

The Apertium LaTeX filter has been developed by Prompsit Language Enginneering, involving Sergio Ortiz Rojas and Boyan Ivanov Bonev. Their deep knowledge of both Apertium and LaTeX has been a key component to create the filter, a non trivial task due to the flexible nature of this format. The format filter covers the most of the standard commands and we will keep improving it. If you find a very frequent command which might deserve to be added, just tell us!

See you soon and enjoy translating you LaTeX files!

    Moltes gràcies!
Fa molt Of temps vaig utilitzar apertium per traduir notice of classe (escrites in LyX- LaTeX) més tard the vaig abandon per problemes in the compilació i em vaig passar to google-translate-api that of fa a temps m’has deixat penjat perque has decidit earn per ús. Avui m’Have instal·lat the nova versió d’apertium i have vist sorprés (molt agradablement) that the nova versió inclou a filter per to latex i latex-raw.
Entenc That latex és codificant accents to’l estil TeX ( \’and ) mentre latex-raw treballa amb accents ( é ). latex sembla anar be But amb latex-raw have tingut alguns problemes perquè no tinc clar them codificacions d’entrance i d’eixida (jo treballe amb linux amb UTF8 i ISO8859-1).
Em podriu aclarir That have’d utilitzar?
D’altra band també m’agradaria know them limitacions.
    Moltes gràcies altra vegada.

Arcadi, if ho utilitzes in the terminal pots utilitzar the següent:
      ISO-8859-15: LC_ALL=ca_Es@euro apertium -f latex-raw …

      UTF-8: LC_ALL=ca_IS.UTF-8 apertium -f latex-raw …

(You have’d instal·lar them locals that they are missing, if it is missing some)

Hi Has moltes limitacions amb paquets especials of latex com beamer, per exemple.

No sembla that it follow a problem amb els locals. Amb -f txt i -f html Works perfectament. Amb -f latex i -f latex-raw Is trabuca quan hi has accents in’l entrance.
Amb The fitxer prova2.txt Have provat the següent (t’envie els resultats)
